Shifting Soil

The art of life is a constant readjustment to our surroundings.

And just like that we have pretty much run through the days of September as October knocks on our door. Today I wanted to share with you a little about the art of transplanting as we move through this season of change

The idea of taking something from where it once was, and maybe even thrived, to giving it a new opportunity to thrive in a different space or location. As I write to you this morning from my She Shed, today’s picture above is the view from my open doors. The brilliant gold of the aspen trees remind me that the garden will soon be heading off to its annual slumber.

Any transplanting that needs to be done during these last warm days of fall that we have been gifted need to happen now. I share more about this from a plant’s perspective in today’s video with a little huffing and puffing as I wrestled with the roots of my white rose bush.

And with that I begin to wonder how I will change and what needs transplanting within me from a human perspective. How about you?

What in your life would benefit from a little bit of transplanting?

Keeping in mind that transplanting is not a goodbye but more of re-evaluating how something in life will change in new types of soil. How will it open the space for new opportunities?

Just like I did with my rosebush and daisies in this week’s video think about, if something in your life were transplanted where and how would it grow better? How would your overall growth improve?

What would need to be removed in order to thrive in the new location?

Sometimes when we have been in the same place or situation for long time our roots need a chance to see the light of day again in order to grow new perspectives.

Take the time as you evaluate your goals for October 2025 where and how you want your growth to happen. Happy transplanting!

Plant often and with Love!
