Lead with Love

Day 29 of the 30 Days of Poetry writing each morning.

Fall has arrived (technically at 12:19pm this afternoon Mountain Time) bringing with it a time for new beginnings...are you ready?

Yesterday I said my farewells to my favorite season of the year, Summer, and spent the day prepping the garden for the changes ahead. These days of the year are always just a bit surreal with one foot still in the season of summer. I can however begin to accept what is to come in the weeks ahead as my garden goes to sleep.

Ed and I have a message board in our kitchen that displays our intention for each month, bringing forward the feelings we want to feel. For the month of September, the words were, Lean Towards Love.

Seemed like a good time to lean into/towards love to help dissipate all the hate and division flying around.

Division can be a horrible thing be it in your family, personal relationships, business relationships and what we are all feeling right now, our country. The biggest cure is forgiveness. Just like forgiving the seasons for changing when I was happy with how it was.

With forgiveness however must come change.

When I started writing this letter 26 years ago I did so to remember to take the time out every Monday morning, as each week begins, to stop and look at what the good things are in my life and in the world around us.

The focus has been about what the victories are, no matter how small they may seem in the moment. Heck just opening our eyes every morning without too many aches and pains is a victory.

We can make a change. Give Love, Feel Love, and most importantly Lead with Love.

In this week’s video have fun with Ed and me as he makes his famous green chili in this garden to table video. I loved coming together with my favorite guy to make a video sharing a food that he loves that we grew from seed and nurtured all summer.

For the majority of time that this letter has been written while I was coaching full time I signed off with the words “To Your Successes and Victories. As I write these words, I can picture members of my family who get this letter snickering over a family meal at those words to tease me. The difference between feeling indignant about it and laughing with them is that I knew that it always came with love.

While my signature line has changed a bit over the years today marks a new signature line here on the Victory Letter.  It represents a calling to remember that when we plant seeds of any kind with love we win, we blossom, and we change. Happy Fall Y’all!

Plant often and with Love!

P.S. Todays poem and picture above is from Day 29 of 30 days of writing a poem every morning. I promise you each one has flowed easily because it came from Love.
