Getting Your Attention

Attention is the beginning of devotion. – Mary Oliver

Here we go heading into the first full week of October 2025. My question for you today is… What in your life is currently getting your full attention?

And when I ask about attention, I want to emphasize on the idea of your FULL attention. Keeping in mind the meaning of the word attention which is the act or power of carefully thinking about, listening to, engaging with or watching someone or something.

In a world that has so many of us multi-tasking (most especially those of us of the female persuasion) giving your full attention to one person, place or thing can be such a huge ask especially when our cup seems to be overflowing with demands on our time. The time, we in fact are the ones in charge of managing.

Whether its fully being with those you love (yes put the phone down), or getting a project or task complete without stressing about the other many different things that haven’t been done in the process.

In this week’s video come with Ed and I as we take you on drive up in the Colorado high country to enjoy the spectacular beauty of what is known as Colorado Gold.

On Thursday I had a not so great experience in having to have a root canal (talk about something getting your full attention!).  I also had to say goodbye to my daughter and her family after what seemed like a much too short of a visit.

So, by Friday I had no energy or motivation left. Ed, my sweet husband, in his wisdom knew exactly what I needed and that was some mountain medicine to put my full attention into. And you know what? It worked! Coming down from the mountains I felt revived and renewed.

As I always like to share, and have to remind myself about often, remember to focus your attention on your Ta Da’s versus the many To Do’s we all have in our lives. When you can, not only will it give you insights to your superpowers but a fuller and deeper connection of self-love and love to share with others. Here’s to a great week ahead!

Plant often and with Love!

P.S. And to all the Moms out there I know that there are many moving parts to your life. Just remember without you at your happiest and most fulfilled level, life doesn’t work as well as it could for all those who count on you. What a great thing to teach your little and big ones about the power of focused attention.
