Celebrating 40 Years of Love ๐ŸŒธ

Walls only become a home when love is what truly holds them up.

Happy Summer Solstice! While the days may be getting a little shorter from here til the 22nd of September, and in the meantime they will carry with them all the joys of summer.

Last week I shared how the Victory Letter was celebrating a 27 year anniversary โ€” well this week my friends I have an even bigger anniversary to share!

Ed and I are celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary, just the two of us on a little Colorado adventure. Yes, on June 28, 1986 in a sweet little park in the foothills of Boulder we vowed to love each other through all the challenges of life.

A pretty big commitment indeed! Especially since both of us had already not done so well at the game of marriage with each having a failed marriage under our belts.

And my oh my have we done that! Here's to love seeing us through it all.

๐ŸŽฅ This week's video: I share a little about why I love coming home from a visual and zen point of view. Enjoy the video which I have called No Grass All Zen ๐Ÿ˜Š

I have been asked, as the number of 40 years looms in conversations, how it has been possible when the divorce rate is close to 50%. While patience is a word that comes up, I think about my 14 principles I like to live by and believe that Ed does too. Or maybe after all these years we have blended together in more ways than one.

The 14 Principles I Live My Life and Love By

  1. Keep the faith, be the faith

  2. Hold the light, be the light

  3. Know your time, be in this time

  4. Hold their hearts, be a part of their hearts

  5. Conjure up the hope, be the hope

  6. See the smiles, be the smiles

  7. Feel the gratitude, be the gratitude

  8. Understand the pain, be above the pain

  9. Create the unknown, be the unknown

  10. Release the fear, be the fear

  11. Acknowledge the change, be the change

  12. Release the doubt, be beyond the doubt

  13. Accept the love, be the love

  14. Embrace you, be you

Love does make the world go round. I try to imagine everyday what this world would look like if we could just knock out all the hate. And this week...I get to enjoy it celebrating with my love and friend and as I shared last week, the rock to my roll.

Plant often and with Love!
