Clearing space to clear your mind. – Jay Shetty
Sometimes the weather has to shift to make us shift. The unexpected. The rain finally comes when you had counted on a sunny day. Stopping you in midsentence of a complaint about the weather because there really is no one to complain to, no one to blame. Not anyone who can do anything about it. So, you accept the goodness the rain brings and do something else.
To give you some context about my long rolled weekend…I am currently in some serious creative space in writing my third book. The book I wanted to write when I wrote the other two books. Not that the other two books were bad, the truth is that there has been something burning in me for a while and I am on a deadline to get my manuscript turned in for my first round of edits. The deadline is a week from Wednesday.
With this said you would think that the with the rain as an excuse to not be in the garden, or the cancellation of our day long bike ride I would have no excuse not to write but it didn’t quite work out that way. The weather actually got thinking about cleaning out my sunroom. I felt like the energy there needed to be shifted because I write in that room quite bit.
My indoor plants quite frankly needed some tender loving care because this is the time of year when I open myself to the outdoor plants as many possible hours of the day that I can.
The goal was to get the indoor plants set up for easy care, clear out the dead leaves, spider webs along with a few spiders. Getting all the indoor plants ready to be semi ignored for the next four months. Meaning only mandatory watering, pest control, and an occasional clip and snip.
What I wasn’t expecting (or maybe I was) was the energy shift that happened inside of me. Making me feel more energized and ready to write in the days ahead. Taking things off of the To Do List and putting them on the TA DA! List can do just that!
With great unknown timing, before the rains came this weekend, I planted my Zinnia seeds! And today’s video is all about inspiring you to plant seeds! Whether they are Zinnia’s (I explain why I love them in the video) or something else near and dear to your heart, there is such wonderful magic around watching seeds emerge from the ground. Now you can do that in a pot (here is a short video) or direct sowing them into the ground which is what I share in this week’s video.
The last 25 days of spring are ahead of us, its time my friend to get a summer growing mindset in one way or another. Grow something even if it’s just your mind. We need all the strength we can muster right now.
I hope you enjoy this beautiful Oriental Poppy that bloomed over the weekend. Here’s to the week ahead and finding magic as we go.
Let’s Grow!
