The Webs We Weave

If you truly loved yourself, you would never hurt another.  – Buddha

Onward we go into a new week. A week full of things we already have on our calendar along with events and happenings that may be unexpected. In both good and maybe not so good ways.

This is pretty much how life rolls.

With that in mind, today along with a video that shares the power of just 8 packets of seeds in my Zinnia bed, I want to invite you to think through a series of questions.

We are going to utilize our friend the spider to help facilitate these questions.

You might be thinking a spider? What does Cheri have up her sleeve this morning?

Well for many reasons what I have come to know over the years is that the spider can be more of a friend than foe.

Some weeks back I shared how I once again enjoyed the book, Charlotte’s Web. A fictional children’s book that shared not only the power of a spider but of a unique friendship as well.

Thoughts of a spider as a friend have been roaming through my imagination and I find I have been looking at them differently. And I know how important they are in the whole circle of life.

Which brings me to the questions for you…

What I discovered in working on my own book the last couple of weeks (and not even sure how I landed on this) was that a spider’s web has six intricate parts.

While I encourage you to dig deeper into this if it sparks you, I will share the name of each part with a question that I hope engages you to think deeper.

The Anchor – What holds me?

The Bridge – What am I reaching towards?

The Frame – What gives my life structure?

The Radii – What are the different directions I am currently growing in my life?

The Spiral – What am I creating from all of it?

The Repair – What needs rebuilding?

Even something we instinctively fear or dismiss can teach us something when we stop long enough to look at it differently.

And perhaps that is the real gift of the spider. A reminder to stop, look a little closer, and see differently.

As this new week unfolds, pay attention to the web you are weaving. What is holding you? Where are you reaching? What might need a little repair?

Onward we go to weaving love, peace, and perhaps a little unexpected wonder into the week ahead. 🕷️💚

Plant often and with Love!

Cheri 💚
