Cognitive Power of Flowers
Joy doesn’t wait for the season to change. It blooms when we tend to what comes our way.
One aspect of life I decided many years ago was that I would not let the cold of winter get me down. That’s why I decided to start growing flowers indoors. Something I came to realize was much easier, like anything in life when I had the right mindset, geared towards growing flowers.
In this week’s video I share how I grow flowering plants indoors and why it matters in increasing my joy levels and I hope yours as well. Here are just a few reasons that year round flowers matter:
Fight-or-flight calming for the mind and body
Lowers cortisol levels over time
Oxygen-inspired spaces that feel fresher and lighter
Winning ways to activate dopamine without overstimulation
Emotional resilience building over time
Really colorful way to brighten your home or office
While this winter so far has proven to be a mild one here on the Front Range of Colorado to be sure, the flowers I find around me inside on a consistent basis still makes a big difference. As I wait for the blossoms outdoors a few months away these blossoms will keep me mentally sustained in between all the other going on’s of life.
Even if you don’t grow your own flowers, picking up a bouquet the next time you are grocery shopping will help too or even better from a local Flower Farmer. Giving flowers is also a beautiful everyday way (not just for special occasions) to show you care about someone who matters in your life.
Here’s to the power of the flower!
Plant often and with Love!
