This week finds me back in the peace garden and this time with a book in hand, The Serviceberry by Robin Wall Kimmerer. In this book Robin shares the important role that abundance plays with reciprocity.

Reciprocity is a single word meaning everyone receives something of perceived equal value based on building a strong relationship. Take the earth for example. If we give it care, respect and gratitude in return we get food, beauty and peace. Sure, there are times she has a mind of her own but for the most part she gives and gives and gives.

When we can think of abundance and reciprocity as something that sustains us and is not separate from us, we are part of the exchange. This includes everything from love relationships to our very existence on this planet.

This is what I got from this important book that Robin wrote. I don’t know about you but after watching the earth and the moon through the eyes of the incredible Artemis NASA team I felt a deeper reference for the fact that we are all just spinning around on this beautiful planet and we need to get along.
