Aging Gracefully

We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.”

— George Bernard Shaw

Last flowers of the season from the garden!

There is a saying as well that youth is wasted on the young because we learn so much about life as we grow older. What we know as we enter one decade after another is that each decade can be measurable in so many ways.

This morning as I write you, I am continuing to deal with a painful back issue that won’t let me go. Basically, I forgot my age so to speak a few weeks ago and attempted to do more physically in a given day than my body at this age was able to handle. Has that ever happened to you?

Along with that I believe my back is calling for my attention to look at more than I overdid it on one day.  My back is reminding me to slow down in the moment and take a strong look at where my life is out of balance. Looking at perhaps the fact that I am giving more energy than I am receiving in areas of my life and what I can do about making some shifts.

This is where I believe aging gracefully and listening to my body is a reminder to let go of what is no longer serving me. To look at where I am holding my fears, and where I could use support. To stop and take some nice long deep breaths and handle this situation with grace.

Watch the Video

Even with an aching back, Ed and I did manage to put together over the weekend a new indoor garden and we made a video to share with you (he did the muscle work).  I am really excited to be partnering with the company Gardyn to grow veggies indoors during the winter months with their amazing full size smart hydroponic system.

You can take a look here at the video and if you have any interest in perhaps getting one for yourself or someone you love for Christmas, they are having a great sale right now and happy to talk more about it with you. More info is in the description below the video on YouTube.

The cool thing is there is no digging or back breaking work required with this system as it self-waters and tells you via an app what it needs. A little high tec over the winter months. So, while my garden outside is giving me a break for the winter I can still have yummy salad fixings inside. I’m excited.

Wishing you a week of listening to your body and what it needs. When we fully listen it is amazing what we can hear. And when we feel good, we can get back out there and play!

Plant often and with Love!
