It’s funny how life unfolds. Some dreams happen. Some simply go dark. Some cool things may happen that surprise us as we keep on our journey.

Are you ready for spring? I sure am! In fact, I have already been out getting my fingers in the dirt as I shared in today’s video all about spring cleaning in the garden.

Now this might sound like a strange question when spring has not even sprung yet but trust me it is an important one. Because if you are an avid tomato lover like I am, there is nothing yummier (in my humble opinion) than a juicy homegrown tomato that you have grown from seed in your very own garden.

What is ahead of you this month that requires an extra dose of curiosity?

When you let go of what no longer serves you, you create space for what inspires you.

There are many aspects of having trust in our life that comes in so many forms. From the relationships we keep, the simple to complex day-to-day life happenings, to moving in a direction of our lives that brings happiness, creativity and forward movement. The kind of movement that allows us to grow.

A question for you this morning is this, when it comes to following the rules are you a rule follower? Or are you a rule breaker?

With the Lunar New Year happening this past week, the snake was named the animal of the year. Ah the snake, the creature right there with alligators that I fear most. Though I would much rather run into a snake any day.

And to be fair to this creature, the snake, as a spirit animal it invokes prosperity and creativity while all the while being charismatic. And I couldn’t help thinking about the occasional snake skins that we find in the garden telling me that this creature was hanging around. And ours is mostly the garter snake which is harmless and more helpful than not in the garden.

This is the fun part. This is where you get to be the change, and it starts with you right in your own kitchen. You’re now in the game for personal longevity, for going against the norm, and for better options for all.

Today marks the official commemoration of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I thought for a change of pace we could look together towards the woman behind Dr. King.

Coretta Scott King who was not only the pillar who stood beside her husband and his work towards freedom and equality, but also the person who insured his work lived on.
